Project Description

Why did you choose this profession?
During high school and college, I was a three-season athlete, competing in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track. Throughout my athletic career, I frequently encountered running-related injuries, which led me to seek physical therapy for the first time in high school. It was during these visits that I witnessed firsthand the impact physical therapists had on their patients’ recovery and well-being. I was inspired by the opportunity to not only build meaningful relationships with patients but also to provide hands-on care and directly observe progress. This experience solidified my desire to pursue a career in medicine, specifically physical therapy, where I could combine my passion for helping others with my interest in rehabilitation. I am grateful for that experience, as it introduced me to a career path that aligns with both my professional goals and personal values!
What is your best quality as a professional?
My best quality as a professional is my ability to apply empathy and flexibility to meet individuals where they are, fostering a collaborative approach to their care and recovery.
Interests and hobbies?
I have all year round outdoor hobbies including hiking, sailing, running, cycling, snow shoeing, cross country and downhill skiing and am looking to begin rock climbing. I am interested in taking cooking classes to learn new techniques and recipes.
Did you know?
I am currently pursuing completion of the Adirondack 46 High Peaks!
What do you find most compelling about your job?
I find witnessing progress first hand to be the most interesting aspect of my job. I’m drawn to how physical therapy combines evidence-based science with meaningful, one-on-one patient care. I find it interesting to assess movement, identify underlying issues, and create personalized plans that help people return to what matters most in their lives. Every patient presents a new learning opportunity, and I’m excited to keep growing while making a real impact along the way.
What are some of your Favorites?
My favorite hobby: hiking trips in the Adirondack Park
My favorite TV shows: Stranger Things and Gilmore Girls
My favorite music artists: The Lumineers, Fleetwood Mac, Taylor Swift
What are you doing in the Community?
During PT school I served as Race Director for the Everyone Can Play 5K, an inclusive community event through Utica University’s physical therapy student organization. The mission of the event is to create an accessible environment for all participants including adults and children with disabilities. Funds raised through the event were donated to local charities and initiatives to support individuals with disabilities.
