Project Description

Why did you choose this profession?

I was introduced to Physical Therapy by a family friend who was in the profession herself.  In high school I discovered my love of medicine but particularly the way the body moved and how amazing it is at overcoming and adapting.  As a swimmer and runner I had a few encounters with injury myself but with the help of therapy was educated on ways to encourage and enhance the natural healing processes.

What is your best quality as a professional?

My enthusiasm is my best quality, especially when it comes to physical therapy.  After our first encounter, the biggest take away will be that I enjoy what I do and am truly interested in your goals.

Interests and hobbies?

When I find some quiet time, I love to disappear into a good book, do some yoga or practice some meditation.  I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, snow shoeing, skiing, running….really anything moving!

Did you know?

After college I backpacked through Germany and Italy.  My favorite was Germany, though I did love that the wine in Italy flows like water.

What do you find most compelling about your job?

The most challenging part of my job is overcoming the hurdles of a patient’s beliefs and perceptions about pain and injury, and obstacles standing in their way.

What are some of your Favorites?

I am originally from just north of Philadelphia so naturally I am an eagles fan…E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!  I am magnetically drawn to any Mexican restaurant and can make one mean margarita.  Some homemade hobbies of mine include DIY hand lotions and soaps.

What are you doing in the Community?

I find time to volunteer with my children’s PTO, PTA and try to sign up for some local 5k charity events.  I am also a strong supporter of Save the Children, our local Red Cross and Food Pantry of CNY.
